So, you are getting ready to pack your boxes and move to the old World…Germany to be exact.

But what do you really know about this country? Not much…just what have you heard from your friends or family? You may even be looking forward to some crash courses when you get there or you have a sponsor helping you?

That is how it all started for my very dear friend Heather.

Now that Heather and her family have been over here for a bit, she would let you know that the information they were given before hand was not enough and they still felt lost here in Germany.

I have been trying to help out here and there, but there is just so much information out there… I thought it would be a great idea to put it all down in writing.

So, here it is.  If you are looking for a site that will tell you about Cuckoo clocks and Dirndls this would not be the site for you. Why? Well, because most of us Germans do not own a Cuckoo clock or a vast collection of beer steins.

However, if you need help on store’s opening hours, what trash bin the yogurt cup goes in or where to go for the weekend, you have come to the right place.
